A few days of Christmas!!

Present #1 was tickets to a Flames game! Thanks D & C!! The two seats beside us were empty so we all got our own seat! Waylon was freaked by the darkness and the torch flames and was more interested in what all the other people around us were EATING! He settled down for a bit of the game finally. Zane thought it was awesome. He was trying to blow the torches out! Not sure if he finally succeeded and that why they lost?? He spent a lot of time echoing the hollering fans and managed to entertain most of the people around us too. I think they were all smiling when we left despite the loss anyway! Ash of course was right into the game and VERY disappointeed in Kiprusoff! Until he played goal the next night and got the same 2 on 1 play that even HE couldnt save! I'm not that into Hockey myself but love to see my boys happy so I went along! My book would've been far more entertaining=) Zane was pretending to be SHY!
We got home from the Hockey game to find Grampa, Gramma, Uncle Brice and Uncle Ryan waiting for us. They came for Christmas and stayed a few days before. We started eating then and kept on for the next 3 days! I was sick Monday and Ash, Waylon, Brice and Ryan went to Rolling Hills for hockey.
SANTA came to our house!

A new chainsaw!! He's been expecting this for weeks!

Zane got a drill, Uncle Brice built the work bench!

Having quiet time. Waylon was watching Poppa's watch to see if he could sit still for ONE WHOLE minute. It worked only once!

Zane finally fell asleep and moved from the bed to Mom to Dad and finally to Uncle Ryan.

Wes & Judy came about lunch time Tuesday and we had a HUGE meal with TONS of leftovers and then visited and played games the rest of the day.

We had a great time and are still trying to get back to normal sleeping and eating patterns ( and clothes sizes!)

Hope everyone else had a great holiday. Sure glad its only once a year tho!!

Its December Already!

Wow! Cant believe how time really really flies. Seems we've been extremely busy lately or something.....
Last week I baked all week and we made gingerbread houses. We had special meeting on Sunday which Ash had to work. Amazingly the boys were really good. Thought Id be in for a BAD day but I was so proud of them. I think there was an angel babysitting them. (one you cant see!)

Now they think they are Kipprusoff and Roberto Lomongo! Waylon is Kiprusoff of course. We went and checked out the NEW Costco in the Hat on Tues. It was great and we get to go back next week! YAYYY! Waylon was very tired and picked up a pillow of Mater fluffed it up in the cart and went to sleep! I had to buy the pillow cause he was still sleeping at the checkout!

Tomorrow we are going to Gramma and Grampa's. Waylon is pretty excited, its been a while.

Oh yeah, Ash also bought a Suburban last week! And not 1 hour after a guy phoned and wanted to buy our truck! So... he hasnt bought it yet but says he still wants it. We will see just how lucky that really was. We didnt win the lottery however. Ash was feeling sooo lucky that he split some tickets with the guys at work!

Another Busy Week

Well, we've been busy AGAIN! Ash had last weekend off so his mom came Thursday and helped us make 50lbs of deer/pork sausage. Zane actually had a bit of the flu Wed evening but seemed fine and ready to help all the next day. So HE DID! Waylon was a big help too as he is the "Mighty Sausage Man" now. His job was turning the sausage maker and sometimes he was a LITTLE too fast for Nanna to keep up. We had fun and its done now except for the jerky we still hope to make some century!
We went to the Santa Claus parade that night and FROZE. Its never warm enough when they have that!

Friday night we went to the Bandits hockey game and spent the entire game being annoyed at our children who cannot sit THAT long! Why we go? Believe me I have NO IDEA!

Saturday Ash went hunting with Ron and some friends and the kids and I visited Jody and their boys. I didnt have to cook ALL day! Thank YOU Jody!

Sunday: NO COOKING AGAIN! We were invited out for both meals and had leftovers for breakfast! YAYYYYY! Thank goodness for great friends!! It was also the twins' 13th birthday! So we even got cake!

Monday we made a flying trip to Calgary to look at some "good deal" truck which turned out to be a huge piece of JUNK! Oh well, I got to shop! Came home in time for Hockey, at which Waylon barfed 3 times in 2 hours!! FUN FUN FUN! I think he planned that cause he got to sleep in the BIG bed with me all night long! And of course was better as soon as he went to sleep! He did wake up with a fever tho. He blamed that on Ash cause he pulled the covers up to his neck! And then he was fine. Hope the rest of us stay FINE too.

And today......... Ash bought a 1988 Suburban! Hey Alyson remember yours stalling on an overpass in Calgary when you ran out of gas? Thankfully its HIS not mine and my Durango will last me JUST FINE! I hope! Really dont want to find myself in something only Shane Becker would think is COOL!

And thats all!

Actually more exciting this week is the BRICK is opening in Brooks and COSTCO in the Hat!! YESSSSSS!
Tonite I took Christmas pictures of the boys and I think this is the only one where they both looking and smiling out of about 20!

WE ARE REDNECKS!

Today we had a very BUSY day, not all of it productive! First Zane took it upon himself to beat the fridge with a hammer and put a million dents in it! I couldn't even be MAD cause it was MY hammer and I was downstairs!
For the afternoon we went to a magic show with Sus and her boys. Waylon will most likely have nightmares tonite. He wasn't too impressed with the guy putting swords thru the basket the girl was in. To top it all off....she screamed! THANKS! A very kid-friendly show! OR so they said. But we had fun other than that!

The boys then were playing and I heard Waylon tell Zane, you're Mildred I'm bein Auntie Ladon! Not sure how many meetings they've seen where the workers where BOXERS but his imagination is working FINE! Their meeting only lastes 2 minutes before it turned into a wrestling match! And Zane of course had to where his RUBBER BOOTS! He loves them, as he can get them on all by himself.

AND THEN........................................................
DADDY CAME HOME WITH A DEER! Waylon was definitely NOT squeamish as he had to thoroughly investigate all the BLOOD as closely as possible! In his PJ's. He thought it looked like it would be really TASTY. That's what he told Ash. I guess he's a real BOY, that's for sure. Zane didn't get TOO close but hollered at it trying to scare it or SOMETHING!
AND... as redneck as WE ARE, Ash hung it on the tree in the FRONT yard to skin it! YUMMY! Good thing the neighbor GIRLS were already home for the night! They would've loved to see that !

A Busy Weekend

Well... we had a very busy and accomplishing weekend! For me I think mostly! I actually got some time to myself! I created some purses for Ash's cousin and kids. Downloaded all my pictures!! AND made some cards! Ash managed to get some hunting in...but no LUCK! Maybe next week. I got to go to an Epicure party and take NO kids! We took the kids swimming of Friday night, they both jumped off the diving board and went down the waterslide about 20 times. Which is phenomenal since Waylon has been petrified for the longest time and wouldnt even walk beside the slide. Now however, we got a GOOD workout. Sunday after meeting we went to Sk to get the sausage maker in case Ash gets a deer. So that was a flying trip but the boys were so happy to get to see Kaila and Cody. And we made it back in time for hockey last night in Rolling Hills. WOW!
And I forgot that I also sewed a Christmas present, altho cant say what it is on here in case someone reads it!
Zane got his 1st haircut from Nanna yesterday too and Waylon got a ride in Uncle Shane's new Jeep! Crazy thing!

A wedding

On Nov 2 we attended the beautiful wedding of Jenelle Stewart and Kent Quiggley. It was a really great day and we had lots of fun visiting and seeing everyone. Thanks for inviting us!
Since then, it snowed here, but melted, time changed, for which we were all very tired for a day or two. Earlier than normal. And Hockey started. Waylon took a bit to get used to his skates again but now is quite confident that he is the next Dion Phenuff!! GO FLAMES GO!
Zane had skated on that were too big but he was happy to be held up as long as he got to hold a puck! So maybe by the end of the year he will skate or we will be crippled from bending over so much! My pictures arent uploaded yet so I dont have any for here.
Its sposed to snow this weekend again, so I guess maybe winter is here already!

Happy Halloween!

We were cleaning a THING! Our seeds got planted a little close together and therefore produced a thing! Huge and Green and Knobby and Orange inside!? It made a great carved witch but the boys thought it a little gruesome to clean out, they still wanted to help tho!
We had a hunter and a bear for Halloween. We also had 13 trick-or-treaters this year. A record for us here. Maybe cause we were home the whole time and not at the neighbors!
The bear shot the hunter!
We only went to 5 houses and came back with PLENTY of candy to last a long time. Never thought Id be like this but I actually have the candy on top of the fridge so they cant HELP THEMSELVES! As Zane quickly learned where the bowl was and how to get at it with a chair!

Our very own BIG BAD WOLF!

Leaf Pictures

Waylon wanted to take the pictures not be IN them!

A cowboy and Bob the Builder for playgroup Halloween party

I'll huff and I'll Puff........
Ash's redneck method of keeping a fire lit!
And then they had to try too, got more spit than air on the fire I think!

Well, I baked an apple pie for Gerald and Ash got to use his tractor to pick up leaves! A great bargain! Saved a LOT of raking, for which I was very glad! For some reason its always been ME that had to rake. Now they are burnt, burning actually for the third day. The kids had great fun watching the fire. Waylon thought we should have hotdogs and marshmallows by the fire but it got too dark and he was happy to come in. Would've been GROSS hotdogs over more smoke than fire. Give us a little lung cancer maybe!
The boys had a halloween party last Friday and since Zane wouldnt put on his dragon costume he got to wear coveralls and a hard hat instead and be Bob the Builder. Or something like him. He was so happy and thought he was so cool! Didnt much want anyone else to touch his hard hat tho!
I took some fall leaf pictures of the boys but they never cooperate so....
Zane got his 18 mo needles this morning and he freaked on the nurse when she looked at him and when I tried to take his coat off to be weighed. She was like "oh, does he do this all the time?" YES.. sigh! She thought the needles would be a real fight but he had calmed himself by then and just whimpered a little!
Aunty Alyson heard him squawk today and thought he was a troll, not a boy! Not sure if this just a stage or if he really just has a serious attitude problem! Either way it will be nice when it PASSES! in the meantime he is napping and all is peaceful!
Had a wreck with my washing machine pump out on Sat and now its working loverly! So happy to be able to do laundry even if I have to wear shoes over there on the squishy carpet! Other than the black mold that was growing on the pump! DISGUSTING! Now I will have to get a little bleach happy and discourage any more germ growth! OR.... add on and build a PROPER septic system. Now THERE'S a GREAT IDEA! I wish!

Our busy month

The BIG truck in Sparwood!Feeding/Chasing Gramma's ducks.
Check out how brave they are!
Halfway up Kobau Mtn.
Family Picture from the top.

Well, I cant believe its almost the end of Oct. We must've been busy for me to not update! Actually we did have a very busy month. The boys and I went to Tyson and Lori Good's for thanksgiving dinner. Grampa and Gramma were there and it was nice to see everyone and play for a while. Thanks Lori for inviting us.

On the 10th we left for Gramma Zena's in Osoyoos, BC. We went as far as Pincher Creek and all had to squish into the last hotel room with only a double bed. We actually managed a sleep of some sort! We were so happy to get on the road the next day and the boys were so fascinated by the scenery that we were wondering WHY we hadnt gone for 3 years.... Well.... by hour 7 we were very much aware!!

We stopped to see the big truck in Sparwood but not for very long as it was really cold.

Gramma was glad to have us and we were very glad to see her too! Waylon helped her feed the ducks and then went and scared them away! They came back as soon as he left tho knowing that he wasnt normal in their lives!

The boys were very interested to see Gramma's bears and coyote and caribou that she has stuffed. That was the only wildlife we saw so thank goodness!!

Gramma babysat for us one day so we could go across the line and see what deals they DONT have with the dollar being high. Waylon entertained her with all kinds of stories for the entire time we were gone and Zane made her snuggle with him when he woke up from his nap! He can be a suck sometimes!

We climbed Kobau mtn with Gramma and had a little picnic. We went up there with Grampa six years ago too.

The boys made playdough with Auntie Rae and were happy to make a nice big mess for her and since they cant possibly share she had to make some for both boys! Zane really took a liking to Auntie Rae. Maybe because she had a "phone" for him to pretend with or cause she acted silly and kept him entertained. Either way we're glad the boys could see them too.

Zane got a fever Sat nite and has been sick for a week since. I thought it was eye teeth but somehow I'm sick too! Guess I was wrong and we are NOT enjoying the sickness in our house. Hopefully we will be better tomorrow. Ive been saying that all week!

Today would've been Bryer's 2nd birthday. So we are thinking of Auntie Alyson and Uncle Jarvis and Daudi lots this week. And Daudi is getting so big and cute! And I think he will be definitely saying more than his cousin Zane before long! Waylon talked to him on the phone this morning. Not sure who made the most sense!!

Friday, October 5, 2007

HE TALKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He grunts, and points and screeches and hollers and BITES and laughs and hits and giggles and FINALLY....................................................ZANE TALKED!!
He said "UHHH OHHH!!
His first semi-sentence that he actually knows what he's saying!!
Just had to announce that the seemingly never happening has happened!

Harvest Pictures

We're home again! Harvest is over and we can spend time together again! Or rake the leaves in the yard! Whichever is more important I guess! I tried to take some pictures of the boys in the grain pile for their 3 1/2 and 18mos landmarks but as usual they were not overly happy and cooperative and the only way I could get Zane to walk by himself was to give hime a ladybug so altho he's not looking at the camera I think they're not too bad.

Now at 18mos he cant talk but can get anything across by grunts and pointing! With the rate Waylon talks we aren't too sure we even WANT him to start anytime soon! He's also developed a nasty little habit of biting! Had a few big fights with Waylon And he usually wins when the teeth start showing! They do get along occasionally and Zane likes to see if he can get Waylon riled which makes his day all the more fun!

Favorite Cousins!

Zane, Cody and Waylon

The semi Ash was driving and the pile they were building! There was another full day and a half on top of this pile after I took the picture! It was pretty BIG!
Waylon was watching the truck empty and thought climbing up and down was pretty fasicnating!
The grain pile pictures!
The BUG!
They wouldnt look AT me of course!

Another week and month gone by!

Before Zane slimmed down! Not sure how old this picture is, It was on the camera.
Waylon's serious look.
Me! That would be Waylon's finger!
Yelling down the stairs!
He thinks if he waits long enuf and be's cute, someone (Mom) will carry him down so he doesnt have to walk!

Well its a been a week and now I guess I am officially a BAD updater!! Whatta ya know? Anyways... I cant add pictures cause something FZZZTed in my camera when ASH was using it and altho I have bought a new one I havent opened it just yet.

Zane had his 18mo checkup yesterday. He weighs only 25 1/2 pounds! I say ONLY because Waylon was 30 at that age! Guess he was just a monster because Zane isnt tiny by any means!

He has increased in height average tho as he reached the 57th percentile and was only 40 something at all other checkups.

Waylon thinks he is a photographer and is very annoying! I knew I didnt like pictures of myself and one inch from my face does not do any favors! I gave him my old old 2MP digital camera so I can delete pictures of his fingers and dont have to waste money on disposable cameras. I bought him a cheap one the other day, went into the bank for ten minutes and he had it all used up on Zane and Zanes big toe!

We are off to Sk this afternoon, this may be the last time for a while as harvest should be over after this weekend and maybe we will get to either stay home or go to BC for a holiday now.

I will have to try out my new camera on the harvest pictures and see if it works any better. Really quite choked that the old one crashed as I just discovered the digital zoom that actually zooms! Oh well.
Ash says I go thru cameras like he goes thru trucks! We figured last week that including his company trucks, which are 5, in the 7 years we've been married he's had 14 trucks.

I however have had 3 vehicles, one from way before we were married and only 4 cameras! AND my cameras were a LOT cheaper than his trucks=)

Waylon had a few pictures on his camera so I guess I can add them!
